CONTEMPORARY/FLOORWORK
In this contemporary / Floorwork class, participants can expect a mix of dynamic floorwork with upside downs, handstands, falling, catching that proceeds to standing sequences.

I work with wrapping and unwrapping, moving in circular pathways/ streamlines with twists and curves. Developing stamina, flow and softness in and out of the floor. A natural combination of floor and standing will occur as a result of encouraging effortless moving and flow by using weight, and aligning and directing the body in space.
By using sensory images/memories and bosy connections in the body (head-tail connection, upper-lower connectivity and cross-lateral movements), I focus on breaking down and reaching a good, solid anatomical understanding both in floorwork and standing, so that participants can leave with an effective awareness of functionality and economization of energy, knowing what initiates the movement, getting out into all corners of the body and where to direct it. This leads to fluidity and effortless movement, while also playing with dynamics, colours and the artistry of movement.
