DANCING WITH THE MEMORY OF THE MUSIC

« Dance by ear » is a workshop that focuses on dancers relationship to sound and music. Through various scores and tasks the participants will explore different ways of dealing with music in dance, from the most banal to more complex ones.

From Beyoncé to Mozart, we will play a wide range of styles in order to always challenge and get new perspectives on your own musicality. In a playful atmosphere, this workshop aims to deepen our own understanding of dance and music by studying how they work in parallel, interact, reinforce and support each other. The practice of performance, (as opposed to exercising a technique) will be one of the focus. This workshop will question the performativity of the materials and proposals the participants will encounter.

This workshop was developed with the help of Morgane Nicol, Alexander Talts, Danilo Alexandre, Anna Skorpen and Julia Nylander.
